
Carol, a native of Youngstown, Ohio, was brought up in Los Angeles, California. She attended college in Los Altos Hills, California where she majored in Theatre Arts. After working for both community and professional theaters in that area she returned to Los Angeles where she worked in the motion picture industry as Production Coordinator in both the feature film and television divisions of Paramount Studios.
Carol moved to Aspen Colorado in 1976 and made that her permanent home. From 1976-1980 she worked for Grass Roots Community Television. From 1980-1986 she owned and operated the Loewenstern Gallery of Contemporary Art in Houston, Texas where she had a second home. She spent the years from 1989-1996 as Producing Director of Aspen Theatre in the Park, a non-profit professional theatre company. After retiring from that position, she and a partner founded Remy Bumppo Theatre Company, in Chicago. She lived there while the treater was being established.
After returning to Aspen, she began to study art. She took classes and workshops at the Denver Art Museum, The Aspen Art Museum, Anderson Ranch Art Center, The Art Base, and The Red Brick Center for the Arts, among others. She continues to study and show her work locally. From 2000 -2017 she was Co-Director of the Aspen Chapel Gallery. In 2018 Carol retired from that position and moved to Basalt, Colorado. She continues making art in her home studio and working as a longtime volunteer at The Aspen Thrift Shop.
